  1. The Palace (update v. 1.6) - A Virtual World Chat on the Internet

  3. The Palace is a complimentary technology to Web browsers and provides
  4. real-time interactivity between people.  Users can create their own
  5. appearances, or avatars, by importing photos and graphics or selecting
  6. from a suitcase of "props" included in the software.

  8. Once inside a Palace environment, or server, it is possible to see and
  9. talk with other people in the same space.  Users can move between "rooms",
  10. talk privately, make sounds and change avatars as they move throughout
  11. any Palace environment. Unlocking the server software allows anyone to
  12. create their own Palace for the PC, Mac and UNIX platforms.

  14. This shareware copy of The Palace includes both the Palace client
  15. and server. Registration allows customization of your avatar and
  16. unlocks the server software.
